(Newington, Conn./WTIC) - The possibility of severe weather later today has prompted Newington officials to postpone this evening's scheduled fireworks display.
Those with the town's parks and recreation department say the show has been rescheduled for Friday, August 6.
The new rain date is the following day, August 7.
The show is part of a larger event that is still on today.
The "Life. Be In It" event features and arts and crafts, live entertainment, food, and other activities.
In addition, the Veteran's Memorial is set to be unveiled at 3:00.
