HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Governor Ned Lamont is nominating Republican Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton to lead the Department of Revenue Services.
The nomination requires legislative approval. Top Democrats in the state Senate, Thursday night, announced their support for Boughton.
Boughton is Danbury's longest serving mayor, currently in his tenth term. He has had gubernatorial aspirations. In 2018, he secured the nomination of the GOP convention, only to lose the primary.
