(HARTFORD, CONNN. WTIC)-Polls are open Tuesday 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. for Primary Day in Connecticut.
15 of the municipal elections involve Democrats and five are for Republicans.
Deputy Secretary of the State Scott Bates says voters also have the option of voting by absentee ballot. They must have been mailed or placed in the ballot boxes outside Town Hall by 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Bates says protocol standards will be in place at polling places.
As for turnout he says it depends on how heated the contest turns out.
He's witnessed it as low as 10-percent and as high as 50-percent.
