A Winter weather advisory is in effect for the Greater Hartford region.
However this isn't an all snow event as forecasters say we're likely to get socked with a mixture of snow, sleet and rain through Sunday night.
Forecasters that sets up the possibility of power outages as ice accumulates on tree branches and utility lines, not to mention dangerous driving conditions brought on by the storm. The Connecticut Department of Transportation says if you don't need to drive to please stay off the roads.
Then its going to turn bitterly cold for the upcoming week, with real feel temperatures in the single digits. It will also very windy with high wind warnings being posted Sunday night into Monday. Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont activating the state’s severe cold weather protocol from 6 p.m. on Sunday, through noon on Saturday, February 22nd.
