(Hartford, Conn./WTIC) - States are now adjusting COVID-19 vaccine distribution in light of developments regarding Johnson and Johnson's vaccine.
None of the cases have occurred in Connecticut.
But the state Department of Public Health says it's recommending that providers heed the FDA and CDC recommendations and pause use of the J&J vaccine.
DPH says about 100-thousand state residents have received the shot with no reported adverse affects.
The department says it will await the results of further studies.
In light of these developments DPH is asking those providers planning to hold clinics with the J&J to use alternate vaccines if available.
In addition, providers are being asked to reach out to those who were scheduled to receive the J&J shot that they'll have to reschedule.
The FEMA mobile unit will offer the Moderna shot when it resumes.
And Griffin vaccine vans have suspended clinics for at least today.
