In an attempt to spark leads that might help solve the homicide of a Litchfield woman, the State of Connecticut is offering a $50,000 reward in the case.

The body of Kelsey Mazzamaro, 26, was found in the woods of Burlington in May, 2018. She left two children, ages 3 and 5 at the time.

In his first visit to the site where his daughter's remains were found, Carl Mazzamaro told reporters that his grandchildren are doing well, but they want to find out what happened to their mother.

"What she would love to say is first, take care of her children," says Carl Mazzamaro. "Second of all, she would want to... we would want to know what happened. She would want to know. Her kids want to know."

In announcing the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case, New Britain State's Attorney Brian Preleski didn't offer any new developments in the investigation. But he did specify Waterbury and Torrington as areas that she frequented.

Anyone who can help State Police solve the case of Kelsey Mazzamaro is asked to the state's cold case tip line, (866) 623-8058.
