(Haddam, Conn./WTIC) - State police say they're looking for the vehicle involved in a hit and run in Haddam that's left a 14-year-old girl with critical injuries.
Troopers received the call just after 10:30 Thursday night of a person lying on the side of the road on Route 81/Killingworth Road.
Investigators say the teen was riding her bike at the time she was struck from behind by the driver of an unidentified motor vehicle that evaded the scene, the vehicle possibly continuing northbound on Route 83.
Troopers say evidence at the scene suggests the evading vehicle was a 2006-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe either gray or silver with front end, headlight and wheel well damage.
Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the crash is urged to contact state police at the Troop "F" barracks in Westbrook.
