(Hartford, Conn. WTIC)-Train service is being added to the CT Rail Hartford Line and Shore Line East. This becomes effective July 26th. Seven lines were eliminated during the pandemic for both those lines and they'll be reurned to the seven per-line schedule. Also four Shore Line East trains are being added from Old Saybrook to New London.
On the 19th the Northeast Corridor between Boston and New York adds service and the Vermonter resumes daily operation to St. Albans, Vermont. The Vermonter was shuttered in March 2020 because of the pandemic.
DOT Commissioner Joseph Giulietti says it's important to add the train service. “We can once again, safely and responsibly, connect in person with our friends and families who we have missed.”
