(Hartford, Conn. WTIC)-House Republican legislative leader Vincent Candelora opposes a proposal by House Speaker Matt Ritter to extend Governor Ned Lamont's emergency Covid powers another six months.
Candelora says any power granted to Lamont should be on a limited basis and not be broad-based.
Candelora says he discounts reports of the Covid numbers in Connecticut increasing. He says a smaller sample size is being used and is not reflective of what is actually occurring.
Candelora also favors the re-opening of the state Capitol on Tuesday, on a limited basis for staff and lawmakers to meet with constituents.
