(HARTFORD, Conn. WTIC Radio)-Using Infrastructure Week as a backdrop before organized labor, Connecticut's top Democrats touted the Infrastructure measure that has passed the Senate in Washington, currently stalled in the House.

The measure will bring a lot of money back to Connecticut, Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy said, to fix roads and bridges, to improve rail and to help provide climate sustainability in Long Island Sound.

It will also bolster apprentice programs and provide careers for those in the trades, they said.

According to Governor Ned Lamont, the effort will help relieve the half-dozen choke points of traffic in the state.

The improvements will in turn improve the quality of life in many areas from going to the beach, avoiding potholes and delivering children to school, Blumenthal said.

The pressure is now on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to pass the measure in the House, Blumenthal and Murphy said.
