CT weekly COVID-19 vaccination rate rises alongside positivity rate

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)—Connecticut's COVID-19 positivity rate has gone up to over 2% as the week-to-week rate of people getting vaccinated against the virus increased by 7% over the last week, according to state officials.

Connecticut's COVID-19 cases increased by 295 cases since Wednesday, state officials reported. Hospitalizations also went up by eight, putting the state's total COVID-19 hospitalizations at 66.

As of Thursday afternoon, Hartford County has the most hospitalizations at 21, followed by New Haven County at 19. Both Litchfield and Windham counties have zero COVID-related hospitalizations.

"It's encouraging to see the number of people in Connecticut getting vaccinated increase 7% over the last week, and we now have more than 50% of kids aged 12-15 vaccinated," Governor Ned Lamont said.
