(Hartford, Conn. WTIC)- The state Department of Consumer Protection reminds state residents that the public health emergency sector rules still apply on New Year's Eve for those planning on frequenting bars and restaurants.
Those establishments must close by 10 p.m.
That means all patrons must leave by ten and the establishment should be closed for in-person dining. This is in accordance with rules implemented by the Department of Economic and Community Development. Those same establishments can remain open for take-out orders after ten p.m. Alcohol can only be served with take-out orders.
Additonally D-C-P reminds patrons that Covid-19 Sector Rules remain in effect. Capacity restrictions and prohibitions are in effect. Also, food must be served with alcohol, masks must be worn and social distancing regulations observed.
“Everyone is looking forward to 2021 and saying goodbye to this year, but the pandemic will continue even after the clock strikes midnight,” said Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull. “It is important for businesses and consumers to continue to follow the protocols and restrictions that remain in place to protect public health and safety so that we can get back to normal sooner rather than later. And as always, we remind the public to use alcohol safely and responsibly while they enjoy the holiday from home.”
