(Litchfield, Conn-WTIC)-The Office of the Chief State's Attorney has announced that a Litchfield lawyer has been charged with First Degree Larceny for allegedly embezzling nearly one million dollars from veterans and their families.
Kevin Creed, 69, was arrested today. According to the arrest warrant, Creed operated the Fisher House Foundation out of his Bristol law practice. The mission of the Fisher House is to build houses on properties associated with Veterans Affairs hospitals and U.S. military installations. The Chief State's Attorney investigation found that Creed collected 985-thousand dollars from various organizations, embezzeled those funds and then used them for his own purposes.
Creed is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on December 9th.
He is currently serving a 42-month prison term after pleading guilty to federal charges.
