(Meriden, Conn. WTIC)-Full train service has been restored on the Hartford Rail Line with the addition of seven stops in Meriden.
Those stops in the Silver City were curtailed during the Pandemic for safety reasons.
Lt. Governor Susan Bysciewicz and DOT Commissioner Joe Giuletti were on hand to greet morning commuters.
Restoring the service is part of the effort by state officials to get people out of their cars and taking the train, reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.
Bysciewicz said Millennials especially enjoy taking the triain. She says Census dats shows they often choose to live near a train station.
Masks are still required on the trains.
