Hartford, Conn. (WTIC)- Connecticut State Police expect more cars on the road this Fourth of July weekend.

State Police have increased roving patrols starting today and running through Monday.

They remind drivers to wear your seatbelt, no speeding, drinking or texting.

They also stress the importance of obeying the Move Over Law, respecting emergency vehicles on the roads by moving over a lane.

Last year, State Police issued 748 traffic violations for following too closely, texting, speeding and texting.

The previous non-pandemic year, nearly 19-hundred similar traffic violations were issued.
