Officials in Connecticut have a warning for those taking to the roads for the holidays--dont drive drunk. However there is another worry and that is medications. They say this is cold and flu season, and many people may not realize over-the counter medications can impair driving, especially combined with alcohol and drugs.

Among all cases studied in 2025, the State Forensic Lab has found 14-percent of cases have involved operators under the influence of ten or more drugs at a time, often combined with alcohol, which is up eight percent from 2022.
