(Waterbury, Conn./WTIC) - A teenager is dead and Waterbury police are investigating.
Officers received the call to 43 Esther Street for reported shots fired just before 12:30 this morning.
Police say there'd been a fight with those in two vehicles
The vehicles later crashed on Alder Street, one fleeing the scene.
While all this was going on, police say a 17-year-old male victim was dropped off at Waterbury Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He later died.
Officers say they recovered empty cartridge casings behind an Esther Avenue residence, as well as in the road at Alder and Poplar streets.
The victim's name has not yet been released
