HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - State executive branch workers who don't comply with the governor's COVID vaccine mandate face a 45-day, unpaid leave of absence, starting Friday, Gov. Ned Lamont said.
In a data release late Thursday afternoon, the governor's office said almost 98% of workers covered by the policy have complied by entering their vaccination status or test results. 671 employees, or 2.2%, remain in non-compliance.
Managers are working those who may be having technical difficulties entering their data.
An unknown number don't intend to comply, and, if they stand their ground, will face termination after their 45-day leave.
"At some point, you have to hold people accountable if they're not responding," Lamont said, "and we'll start that tomorrow (Friday)."
