The first official heat wave of the summer will arrive here in Connecticut this week with temperatures well into the 90's.The so-called heat dome will cover rnuch of the Northeast corridor with sweltering heat settling in beginning on Wednesday leading into the July 4th weekend.
Forecasters say temperatures in Connecticut will approach 90 degrees on Tuesday and 99 by Thursday with high humidity. Boston by Thursday, will have a real feel of 106 degrees, Washington DC 101 degrees, and in New York City the real feel temperature will be 109 degrees.
As always health officials urge people to stay hydrated and check in on a neighbor from time to time. Also make sure to leave pets plenty of water.
