(Meriden, Conn./WTIC) - West Nile Virus infected mosquitoes have been reported in Meriden.
The find was reported by the State Mosquito Management Program at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station.
City health director Lea Crown says it's a good idea to get rid of any standing water around the home that can create mosquito breeding grounds.
Also, cover bear skin while outdoors and maksure window screens are in good repair to keep mosquitoes out.
While most people who contract WNV are asymptomatic, about one in five can develop symptoms like headache, body aches, and joint pain, among others.
