Alex Trebek, the host of "Jeopardy!" for the last 36 years, died on Sunday at age 80 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. One of the most beloved figures in the entertainment history, Trebek's presence in many of our homes was a nightly staple. Beyond that, though, he was a well-known sports fan, with a particular fondness for hockey (he was Canadian, after all).

Some of Trebek's best and most humorous moments from his four-decade run hosting America's quiz show came revolving sports -- most notably, contestants' otherwise genius knowledge being torn to shreds when it comes to athletics. As we celebrate Trebek's life, here are some moments to hopefully make you smile:

First, the one that's been making its wave across social media, in what might be the collective greatest sports category in the show's history.

Then you have a woman who not only didn't name a correct NFL team for her Final Jeopardy clue, but could not have cared less (and won anyways!)

At least that woman straight up didn't care. These next two seemingly ignored all alarm bells going off in their brains and chose to buzz in anyways, to great humor.

Of course, we can chuckle at all of these contestants because in basically all other facets of knowledge (history, literature, science, the arts) they are tremendously smarter than us. And that's okay! We all became a little bit smarter by tuning in to Jeopardy! each night. RIP, Alex.
