Isiah Kiner-Falefa is reportedly staying in the AL East, as FanSided MLB insider Robert Murray reports that the former Yankee is signing a two-year, $15 million deal with the Blue Jays.
Per Murray, the deal includes $1 million in incentives.
Kiner-Falefa was brought to the Yankees prior to the 2022 season in a deal that sent Gio Urshela and Gary Sanchez to the Twins, while bringing Josh Donaldson to New York. Kiner-Falefa was given the starting shortstop role and struggled offensively, eventually being benched in favor of Oswald Peraza.
The 28-year-old settled into a depth role in 2023, batting .242 with six home runs in 326 at-bats while playing every position on the diamond other than catcher and first base.
Across two seasons in pinstripes, Kiner-Falefa posted a .643 OPS while batting .253.
