Boomer & Gio: Yankees making Guardians look like 'a walk in the park'

The Yankees took a commanding 2-0 series lead in the ALCS with a mainly breezy win in game two, even with Gerrit Cole clearly not having his best command.

The game had Gio so bored that he was watching Deer Man videos during the game, and says the Yanks have all but clinched their first pennant in 15 years.

“The Yankees are just toying with the Guardians. At no point did I think the Guardians were gonna win this game,” Gio said. “I just think the Yankees are that much better. I think they’re gonna sweep this series and will wait around for seemingly weeks to see who wins the NLCS.

“This Guardians team looks intimidated. Their manager Stephen Vogt…he doesn’t look like he’s got the command that Francona used to have in that dugout. They’re just not as good.”

The Yanks have clearly not been their best over the first two games of the series, committing maddening baserunning blunders while still squandering some golden run scoring opportunities, but they still picked up two wins, and Gio says that is thanks in large part to how inferior Cleveland is. In fact, he believes the Guardians are as good as dead.

“The Yankees are smacking them around. Good for them,” Gio said.

Boomer had a nearly identical takeaway when watching game two on Tuesday night.

“It seems like a walk in the park for the Yankees,” Boomer said. “Maybe there was one moment where it got a little uncomfortable…but they won a game where their best pitcher didn’t have his best stuff, when they don’t know how to run the bases…where they don’t have a legitimate third baseman who has no idea what he’s doing.”
