Boomer: Jazz Chisholm looking like 'stroke of genius' by Brian Cashman
Jazz Chisholm continues to make his impact on the Yankees felt in a big way, blasting two more home runs in Wednesday’s win over the Phillies, including a go-ahead three-run blast in the seventh.
It was Chisholm’s second straight multi-home run game, making him the first player in Yankee history to hit four home runs in his first three games with the team.
For Boomer, the Bombers couldn’t have asked for anything more.
“Jazz Chisholm has already had a major impact on this team,” Boomer said. “Chisholm has been the elixir to the energy problems that they’ve had.
“So far, you can’t diminish in any way, shape, or form what Jazz Chisholm has done for this team, and how he’s ignited this team. The energy he has brought to this team, it’s one of the reasons Derek Jeter and CC Sabathia said to bring him here, because this is exactly what you need.”
Chisholm has willingly moved to third base and played it well so far, and of course, the bat has been a huge upgrade as well. The lineup looks deeper with his addition and the return of Giancarlo Stanton, and since his arrival, the Yanks have won four in a row.
“He seems like the perfect guy in the perfect spot,” Boomer said. “That might be the stroke of genius that Brian Cashman needed right now.”
