The heavily criticized ump is roasted on Twitter at least a handful of times during the baseball season for missing what many fans believe are simple calls.

Hernandez is trending in December because of an ESPN article announcing that 10 MLB umpires are retiring at the end of the year.

The piece from Jesse Rogers calls the umpires retiring “well-respected,” prompting one person to say they knew right away Hernandez wouldn’t be on the list.

Ted Barrett, Greg Gibson, Tom Hallion, Sam Holbrook, Jerry Meals, Jim Reynolds, Bill Welke, Marty Foster, Paul Nauert and Tim Timmons are the umps retiring.
