Where Bobby Dalbec has landed in his rookie season is pretty impressive.

After his 22nd home run of the season Tuesday night, the first baseman is hitting .242 with a .786 OPS for 2021.

But when you put his introduction into a slightly different context - one which involves Theodore Samuel Williams - the performance truly jumps out.

While the combination of 2020 and 2021 is all well and good when looking at Dalbec's young career, it is really what he has done since the end of July that offers the most optimism.

Since that July 31 jumping off point, Dalbec has hit .311 with a 1.132 OPS, hitting 12 homers in 119 plate appearances. It is the second-best OPS of any Major League Baseball regular during that span, only behind Philadelphia's Bryce Harper.
