Source: Red Sox make multi-year offer to Nathan Eovaldi

The Red Sox are clearly fine with having Nathan Eovaldi as part of their starting rotation going forward.

Having already extended Eovaldi the one-year, $19.65 million qualifying offer, the Red Sox have also, according to a major league source, presented with the free agent pitcher with a multi-year deal.

The approach by the Red Sox does not mean, however, that any deal is imminent, with Eovaldi needing to decide whether or not he will accept the qualifying offer by Tuesday at 4 p.m.

MLB Trade Rumors projects Eovaldi as reeling a two-year deal worth $34 million.

The Red Sox' starting rotation currently projects as including Chris Sale, Brayan Bello, Nick Pivetta, Garrett Whitlock and James Paxton.
