While the Red Sox were dealing with their fifth straight loss Tuesday night, losing to the Tigers, 4-2, they were afforded some good news a few hours later.

Triston Casas continued to offer a ton of optimism regarding the future of the franchise.

For the third time in four days the Red Sox' first base prospect hit a key home run for Team USA in the Olympics, this time supplying a two-run blast that propelled his team to a 3-1 win over the Dominican Republic. This homer came against former Red Sox prospect Denyi Reyes.

The win allows the United States to advance to the semifinals, where they will play the loser of South Korea and Japan. The winner of that game will advance to the Gold Medal game.

The 21-year-old had been hitting .271 with .777 OPS and six home runs for Double-A Portland before leaving for the Olympic experience.

Casas is ranked as the No. 29 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline.
