BT sounds off on Juan Soto amid reports of wanting free Yankee Stadium suite: 'Get the hell out of here'

After being dragged for losing Juan Soto to the rival Mets, the public bashing of the Yankees continued on Monday amid reports by the New York Post that the Yanks declined to give Soto a free suite at Yankee Stadium for his family.

Per the report, the Yanks stood firm on making Soto pay for that suite, as they did for the likes of Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter, while Steve Cohen offered the superstar a suite at Citi Field for free, and now, Soto is a Met. If that was any kind of turning point in negotiations, Brandon Tierney says Soto can take a hike to Queens.

“Who the hell does Juan Soto think he is that he’s gonna get a free suite over Derek Jeter, a five-time champion with the fifth or sixth most hits in the history of baseball?” BT said.

“They didn’t get it, and it didn’t dissuade them from staying. To me, maybe it means the Yankees meant a little more to them.”

BT had long maintained that Soto was not worth the mammoth contract he would receive, given the fact that he is a “two-tool player,” even if he is generational at those two tools. So, if a suite was a snag in contract talks, then he is fine letting Soto walk.

“I don’t think you build a championship by completely caving and acquiescing for every little petty demand,” BT said. “I’m giving you $760 million, and I gotta pay $500,000 for a suite for your brother? Get the hell out of here. We don’t need you.

“Honestly, I don’t begrudge Hal at all. matter of fact, I am surprised. I am good. He went to $760 million. What do you want him to do, grovel and beg?”
