BT opened Thursday’s show by celebrating the Juan Soto trade, and celebrating Brian Cashman for orchestrating a deal that he believes is heavily slanted in the Yankees’ favor.
“Cashman has not yet fully atoned for all the mistakes he made, but yesterday was a significant step forward,” BT said. “[Michael King] is going to be 29…he’s only got two years on controllability left here. The Yankees didn’t win. The Yankees obliterated the San Diego Padres. They destroyed them. They absolutely fleeced them and waxed them.”
The Yankees gave up King, Drew Thorpe, Jhony Brito, Randy Vasquez, and Kyle Higashioka. BT says, for a superstar like Soto, that is nothing, especially when King was the headliner.
“Michael King has been in pro ball since 2016. He’s thrown 640 innings in eight seasons. Think about that…he’s not gonna go from 104 [innings] to 193,” BT said.
“The clueless people who think this is maybe a little too rich, get lost. Juan Soto is a superstar.”
