Aaron Judge smoked home run number 300 on Wednesday night, offering a chance for C-Mac to tell fans to remember that they are witnessing the best Yankee in over half a century.
“Just take a second and realize what we’re seeing,” C-Mac said. “We are looking at a guy who has been here, is going to be here his entire career, and is now the fastest player ever to 300 home runs. He did it 132 games faster than Ralph Kiner. That is damn near a full season of baseball.
“We are watching, without question, the greatest New York Yankee since Mickey Mantle. You could honestly, possibly, go further than that. The way baseball is today, and how difficult it is to hit. If you look at batting averages and everything else...it is so hard to hit. Everybody throws 97-98 mph...and this guy is toying with the opposition.”
Judge has had his injuries and was late coming into the majors, which stopped him from having a bid to become the all-time home run champ. Regardless, what he has done since his historic rookie season is nothing short of incredible, and C-Mac says fans need to take a step back and acknowledge what they get to watch on a nightly basis.
“He is an absolute beast...he is Barry Bonds,” C-Mac said. “This is as good a hitter as we’ve ever seen. This is our Mickey Mantle. This is our Ted Williams.”
