The Yankees had fans scratching their heads on Monday night, after Domingo German was brought in for five innings of relief after being a late scratch as the starter due to discomfort in his armpit.
Meanwhile, the Angels and Cubs, two teams seen as sellers just weeks ago, were adding pieces before the trade deadline, while the Yankees waited.
It was all enough to set off C-Mac during Tuesday morning’s show.
“Sure, let’s bring [German] in and have him embarrass us by throwing five shutout innings out of the bullpen,” C-Mac said. “It’s just a cavalcade of idiocy that has come out of the Yankees recently.
“It’s hard to fathom what’s going on here, and where they are right now. You’re seeing teams that literally were sellers five days ago…now they’re more aggressive than the Yankees.”
Suffering through a rough season is one thing, but C-Mac can’t believe how much the Yankees seem to make a spectacle of losing in 2023, where there is always another narrative dominating the headlines alongside the team’s latest loss.
“The Yankees sit there and do nothing while watching their season wastes away…it’s just amazing, how the Yankees make you feel sick to your stomach,” C-Mac said. “You can’t just lose anymore. You have to find a way to embarrass the fans as well.”
