C-Mac: Jazz Chisholm has helped make 'enormous' difference in Yankees lineup

The Yankee offense erupted again on Monday, scoring 14 runs to make it 40 total in their last three games.

It has been shades of the beginning of the year for the Bombers, who looked like a well-oiled machine through the first two months of the season before going into an extended malaise over the past seven weeks.

For C-Mac, the addition of Jazz Chisholm along with previously slumping bats coming back to life has made all the difference, and gives the team a completely different feel.

“It feels different when Volpe isn’t relied upon to be the guy, but be the nine hitter,” C-Mac said. “When Ben Rice is batting eighth. When Torres can be the sixth or seventh hitter. When Stanton is back in the lineup.

“Right now, this Yankee team, it’s amazing what one move can do. Jazz Chisholm, in two games, has been everything you could have wanted him to be. His athleticism…he looks totally fine playing third base…he looks like he can play the position to me.”

The questions will always come back to whether or not the offense can get it done in October, given how their playoff runs have ended in recent years, but for now, C-Mac says fans should enjoy the lineup returning to form of late.

“Can we enjoy three straight days of dominant baseball, of actually scoring runs, and having good at-bats from top to bottom? I think we can,” C-Mac said. “I think we can finally watch this team and feel pretty damn good about it for once, because the difference in the lineup is enormous.”
