Craig: Opponents should be walking Aaron Judge every time he comes to the plate

Aaron Judge is incredibly putting up even better numbers than he did through 46 games last season, when he finished with 62 home runs.

With that in mind, after hitting another homer on Tuesday night, Craig wants to know why Judge isn’t getting the Barry Bonds treatment and being walked every time up.

“I’m saying this as a guy who wants to see the Yankees win every game, and they’re not gonna win every game if Judge is walked three times a game,” Craig said. “But from the other side, the dude is on pace again to do damn near what he did last year…I also remember the year Barry Bonds got walked 100 times and got walked with the bases loaded.

“If Aaron Judge gets up, and we recognize that there isn’t a Murderers Row behind him…I would walk Aaron Judge every time he gets up with the bases empty. I’m trying to figure out for the life of me why nobody is doing it, and why it’s not even being discussed.”

Evan noted that even with Judge’s incredible numbers, he still is retired nearly 60 percent of the time he comes to plate, so not walking him, at least not every time up, is worth the risk. Craig doesn’t agree. He’s issue a free pass every time Judge comes to the plate.

“Every single time Aaron Judge gets up, I walk him,” Craig said. “Aaron Judge cannot hurt me standing on first base.”
