For the first time ever, Yankees legend Derek Jeter will be appearing at the organization’s annual Old Timer’s Day.

The team announced Monday morning that Jeter will be in attendance at Yankee Stadium at the event on Saturday, Sept. 9, part of the Old Timer’s Day festivities that will also include an honoring of the 1998 Yankees for the 25th anniversary of their historic season.

Jeter will also be a part of a new addition to the festivities, a roundtable format where Yankee greats will share memories of their pinstriped careers. Also on hand will be franchise legends like Mariano Rivera, Joe Torre, Ron Guidry, Tino Martinez, Andy Pettitte, Paul O’Neill, Jorge Posada, and Willie Randolph.

Once again, there will not be an Old Timer’s Game played.

Other members of the 1998 team expected to attend include Scott Brosius, Homer Bush, David Cone, Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez, Graeme Lloyd, Ramiro Mendoza, Jeff Nelson, Luis Sojo, Shane Spencer, Mike Stanton, Darryl Strawberry, and David Wells.
