Ezequiel Durán, acquired by the Rangers in the trade that brought Joey Gallo to the Yankees, continues to thrive after hitting a home run for the third straight game on Thursday afternoon.

The 24-year-old, sent to Texas alongside Josh Smith, Glen Otto, and Trevor Hauer, launched his 12th home run of the season in Thursday’s game against the Tigers, raising his batting average to .324 and his OPS to .934.

Durán was signed as an international free agent by the Yankees in 2017, but was dealt to Texas for the All-Star lefty slugger Gallo, as the Yanks tried to gain more left-handed power in their righty-heavy lineup that summer.

Instead, Gallo struggled mightily with the Bombers, and was dealt to the Dodgers the following season. On the bright side for the Yanks, they got pitching prospect Clayton Beeter back in that deal, and Beeter is quickly rising up the minor league ranks, and was just selected to the Futures Game in Seattle.
