The Yankees can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to Gio Urshela.
The third baseman underwent an MRI after injuring his left hand on Tuesday night, but manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday that Urshela’s MRI came back “fine,” and he is day-to-day.
Urshela injured the hand when he landed on it during a double steal against the Angels, which happened just days after he returned from a nearly one-month stint on the IL with an injured hamstring.
Boone said Urshela took swings on Friday and did defensive work as well, and could return to the lineup as early as Saturday against the Orioles.
