Guy Fieri never fails to impress when it comes to innovative culinary creations.

Just take his "Big Bud's Beer Can Chicken," for instance, which is quite literally made by sticking an upright chicken on top of a half-filled beer can and cooking it upright. Or there's his "S'more Pizza," featuring graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate... along with cayenne pepper and chili powder. Or there's the "Cookie Sandwich Cocktail," which mixes a crushed oreo with vodka and pineapple juice — and I genuinely can't tell if I'd love this or hate this without trying it, a fact which goes for the bulk of his more outlandish recipes.

The most recent of these quirky creations combines two things that are commonly mentioned in the same sentence but rarely found on the same plate, let alone in the same mouthful. Any ideas? Think about baseball, Chevrolet and the two delicacies that fit in between from Campbell Ewald copywriter James Hartzell's famous 1974 ad campaign.

That's right: Fieri combined an apple pie with a hot dog to create — drum roll, please — the Apple Pie Hot Dog. And you can make it, too, ahead of MLB's "Field of Dreams" game between the Yankees and White Sox, by following the simple steps presented below!

Dyersville, Iowa isn't normally known as Flavortown — at least not to my knowledge — but Fieri is bringing this sweet, savory concoction to the "Field of Dreams" on August 12, when Major League Baseball will be played on Iowa soil for the first time ever.
