After hitting two home runs on Friday night, the red-hot Joey Gallo left Saturday’s game with neck tightness.

The Yankees made the announcement during Saturday’s game after Gallo was replaced by Tyler Wade in the outfield to begin the bottom of the fourth inning. Gallo popped out in foul ground in his only at-bat on Saturday, and made a pair of catches in the outfield.

The YES Network noticed Gallo appearing to grab at his neck during Friday night’s win, even as he recorded three hits and a pair of homers. On Gallo’s swing where he fouled out on Saturday, he seemed to react as if there was some pain in the neck area.

Losing Gallo for any amount of time would be dreadful timing for the Yankees, as Gallo has put up an OPS over 1.000 over his last 13 games, smashing seven home runs in that span.
