Jose Trevino gave members of the Uvalde Little League team the surprise of a lifetime this weekend.
The Yankee catcher, who lives 90 minutes from Uvalde, surprised the team in a stretch limo with his arrival, then took the team to Six Flags, which he had rented out just for the team for the day.
Trevino won prizes for the kids, gave out some more, and put a lot of smiles on their faces along the way.
Trevino hit a walk-off single for the Yankees back on May 25, and his first on-field and postgame comments following the game winner were an offer of prayers and condolences to the families that were impacted by the tragic shooting on May 24 at Robb Elementary School, not far from where he was born in Corpus Christi.
Trevino also organized his birthday party in San Antonio this weekend (he turned 30 on Nov. 28), which included autographs, giveaways, and other prizes.
