The Padres reportedly signed Wandy Peralta to a four-year deal, ending the lefty reliever’s Yankee tenure, where he was one of the most reliable bullpen arms for New York over the past two seasons.

With bullpen reportedly being the last area of the roster the Yankees plan to address this winter, Keith couldn’t believe they would let Peralta go at that price.

“You didn’t want to pay him?” Keith said. “Do some quick math. Four years, $16.4 million. You can’t give this guy $4 million? I guess we’re really penny pinching to give Juan Soto his $600 million, but we needed that.

“It can’t be Nick Ramirez…Matt Krook? I don’t even know who else…I don’t know, bros.”

For an all-in season, Keith can’t understand why paying a proven lefty reliever $4 million a year isn’t worth it. Picking up relievers like Matt Gage off waivers shouldn’t be seen as enough.

“There are some holes and some past history that tell you this isn’t good enough for an all-in season,” Keith said. “Fingers crossed.

“I hope they don’t look at Matt Gage and say, ‘We got this guy for nothing. We don’t need Wandy.’”
