A caller phoned Keith to discuss the wide-open nature of the MLB landscape this season, and how he wants to see the Yankees meet the hated Astros in October to finally get their revenge.
But Keith made it clear that he would want no part of another playoff rematch with Houston, a team that has bounced the Yanks from the postseason four times since 2015.
“Let me be on record: I don’t want to see the Houston Astros. Hell no. No!” Keith said. “Bro, they have experience putting us away, and the Yankees have experience folding against them. I do not want to go to Minute Maid Park. Give me something else. Give me a different course.”
The Astros have knocked the Bombers out of the ALCS three times since 2017, including a sweep in 2022. Keith would rather avoid more heartbreak than to get a chance at revenge in 2024.
“Give us the Twins. They’re always a soft landing spot,” Keith said. “Give me the Royals. The Orioles. Give us anybody. I don’t want to relive the nightmare that is Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Justin Verlander. No thank you.”
