Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - A man is under arrest after police say he stole a box truck and led officers on a chase which resulted in several vehicles were struck.

It was before noon on Wednesday that officers were alerted about a truck that was taken from the scene at 115 South Main Street.

The vehicle was registered to a contractor doing work in the area, police said.

When officers later attempted to stop the vehicle, they say Dante Walton, 29, of Waterbury led them on a pursuit, hitting a Connecticut State Police cruiser, a Waterbury police SUV and other vehicles on Grand Street.

Walton fled on foot but was later captured, say police.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Walton faces a litany of charges.

Among them: larceny, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, and assault on a police officer.
