Matt Carpenter makes Yankee history with latest home run

Matt Carpenter drilled a two-run home run in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Guardians, and made Yankees history in the process.

Per ESPN Stats and Info, Carpenter is the first player in franchise history to record seven home runs in his first 10 hits with the team, as Carpenter has now gone deep seven times in 49 plate appearances this season.

Carpenter reworked his swing at 36 years old after struggling to stay in the league following MVP caliber production with the Cardinals, and it has clearly paid off, as those seven home runs are the same amount he hit combined in 2020 and 2021, a total of 418 plate appearances.

The mustache power is real.
