SNY recently revealed its list of the top 10 athletes in New York right now, with Jalen Brunson taking the top spot over Aaron Judge.
Morash took exception to the top of that list, declaring that Aaron Judge needs to be the No. 1 spot given his superstardom within the league he plays in, and for how long he has been playing at an elite level in New York.
“Jalen Brunson, with all due respect, has no business being number one yet over Aaron Judge,” Morash said. “This is taking nothing away from what Brunson has done contract wise or what he did in bringing the Knicks back. We are about to embark on a second half…where Aaron Judge could finish with 60 home runs for the second time in three years.
“Aaron Judge has been the best player on a Yankee team for years, and the Yankees have at least been to an ALCS, the NBA’s version of the Eastern Conference Final.”
Morash understands the impact Brunson has had on New York and his role in bringing the Knicks back to relevance, but Judge has set records in his time with the Yankees, has played in the ALCS three times, and has been one of the best in the game since his historic rookie season.
“You can have the debate, if not a slam dunk, best player in baseball,” Morash said. “People will debate Ohtani vs. Judge. With all due respect to Jalen Brunson, he is not the best player in the NBA.
“You can praise Jalen Brunson without slighting Aaron Judge. Putting Brunson No. 1 is slighting Aaron Judge.”
