Mike Tomlin stepping down after 19 seasons with Steelers

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – According to several insiders, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is stepping away as the Steelers head coach.

The move comes minutes after locker room cleanout as players were discussing how much they enjoy playing for him and what Tomlin has meant to them.

Tomlin ends his 19-year NFL career after a seventh consecutive playoff loss, 30-6 Monday night at home against the Texans.

Overall Tomlin was 193-114-2 in 19 years of regular season games, along with 8-12 in the postseason, including winning Super Bowl XLIII in the 2008 season and reaching another Super Bowl in 2010. Tomlin and Chuck Noll are tied for tops among Steelers coaches in regular-season wins.
