Even though the Patriots aren't in the Super Bowl, they have still been a major topic of discussion, especially the "Patriot Way."
Early in the week, Danny Amendola said Tom Brady is the "Patriot Way," which has turned into a larger discussion with many weighing in.
Appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio Thursday, Patriots running back James White was asked how he'd define it.
“Just coming in, ready to work, putting your pride aside and showing up every day and competing hard," he said. "[Bill] Belichick is going to challenge you, whether in meetings or on the practice field or on game day. He is just going to try and get the best out of you. It’s just preparing hard, studying hard and playing hard. Just accepting your role. It’s not going to be one guy getting the credit for everything, everybody is going to do their little part to get wins.”
Things didn't go well for the Patriots this year, as they finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
“It was definitely a tough season for us," White said. "It definitely didn’t go the way we expected. Obviously, there’s no excuse and things of that nature. We all just didn’t play up to the level we are accustomed to playing to. It’s not one person’s fault. It’s all of ours. We had our spots that we played well and we had our spots where we didn’t do so well. We had a great group of guys in the locker room. Guys competed no matter what the scores were. We had some lopsided scores where guys competed — a lot of young guys playing hard and learning. We fought as hard as possible, we just didn’t get as many wins as we wanted to.”
White, who has played all seven of his NFL seasons in New England, will be a free agent.
