On Friday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were joined by Radio.com insider and NFL writer for The Athletic, Michael Lombardi, who talked about his concern for Tom Brady’s longevity when he was with the New England Patriots in 2014.
“I got to be frank with you. In 2014 when I first went to New England I was worried, I was really worried that Tom was at the end. His yards per attempt was way down. He wasn’t really holding the ball, making the throws that you have to make in the NFL where you have to hold that ball that last split second. So I was worried, we drafted Jimmy Garoppolo that draft,” Lombardi said when asked if he thought Brady would still being playing at his high of a level.
“I am surprised because I thought there was an end and then there was a surge. I didn’t know if that surge could continue for six more years as it has, so fairly remarkable. And you know the one thing about being in personnel and being in scouting you got to know when you are wrong and admit it because you are going to be wrong more than you are going to be right,” Lombardi continued.
