The Odell Beckham Jr. watch continues.
Beckham Jr. is now a free agent after clearing waivers Tuesday and now controls where he will play next.
It appears the Patriots are in the mix, as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk tweeted, "Patriots are definitely in on OBJ. Per source."
In addition, Mike Giardi of NFL Media reports the Patriots believe they are "a real player" because of Bill Belichick. Beckham Jr. has praised the Patriots coach a great deal over the years and the same goes for Belichick towards the receiver.
With that being said, the Patriots aren't the only team involved.
According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, six teams are in the mix, including the Patriots. Others include the Packers, Saints, Chiefs and Seahawks.
From a Patriots perspective, it's hard to see them competing with those other teams as the only attraction is Belichick. It's hard to see Beckham. Jr. wanting to play with a rookie quarterback, especially when the other teams have stars like Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers.
There is no timetable for Beckham Jr. to make his decision.
