The Patriots ultimately did not land Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, as he has been traded to the Titans, but it doesn't seem like they had much interest in the 32-year-old.

According to NBC Sports' Peter King, the Patriots never had serious interest in committing $38 million to the wide receiver, who is closer to the end of his career than being in his prime.

King also reported three other teams, besides Tennessee, were in the mix as of last week. But, none were willing to give up the second and fourth-round picks that the Titans did.

In nine games last season, Jones finished with 51 receptions for 771 yards and three touchdowns.

While it makes sense that the Patriots were not interested in pulling the trigger for Jones, they still could use another wideout who has produced at the NFL level before training camp.
